Site Requirements Established
For Hosting National SAFECONS

Monroe, LA - To help schools determine if they have the facilities to handle hosting a national SAFECON, the NIFA Council has approved the following list of site requirments. If a school does not meet all of the requirements exactly, they should request a site review by the NIFA Executive Director.

Airport

.....Operating control tower (either permanent or temporary)

.....Minimum of 3000 ft x 75 ft. dedicated runway, or no commercial traffic

.....Ramp

..........Tie-downs for 90 single engine aircraft with 36 ft. wingspans

..........Staging area of 200 ft. x 100 ft. minimum

.....Hangar

..........Minimum of 10,000 sq. ft. of clear space

..........Lighting sufficient for taking exams

..........Restrooms or Port-a-johns for 500 people

..........Electrical supply for 40 display booths

..........Offices (all offices must have lockable doors. Keys must be furnished to users)

.....Aircraft Recognition Test - Auditorium which seats 300, or same as SCAN Test

.....Industry Reception – catered for 100-125

Banquet Facility
